The Jeannette Genius McKean Run for the Trees Memorial 5K is back again on April 25 at 7:30 a.m. Participants will run/walk on the beautiful, tree-canopied, wilderness dirt road trail of Genius Drive. The 2015 Parade of Homes kicked off on Saturday, April 18, and will be held this weekend April 25 and 26. This year's showcase includes 96 builders and features new construction homes and renovation projects. While The Golden Girls TV sitcom has been off the air for decades, the lifestyle inspired by the show is a growing national trend. Orlando-area adults ages 50 and above are invited to come learn about shared living on Monday, April 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Art & History Museum – Maitland’s Cottage on Lake Lily located on Lake Lily Drive in Maitland. The workshop will launch the Central Florida regional affiliate of Golden Girls Network, a company dedicated to helping mature adults find roommates and succeed at shared living. The educational event is free and light refreshments will be provided. Speakers will include Golden Girls Network Founder Bonnie Moore, who will discuss how to set up a Golden Girls home and Central Florida Regional Director Barbara Koehne.
