The Seasons 52 Park Avenue 5.2K presented by Florida Hospital will be Saturday, Jan. 26, at Central Park and downtown Winter Park on Park Avenue. The event will start with a 5.2K Run and Walk at 7:30 a.m., followed by a Kids’ Run at 8:45 a.m. Registration is required to participate. Pookie’s 5th Annual Winter Rescue Fest charity fundraiser and adoption day to benefit local non-profit animal rescue groups will be Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lake Lily Park in Maitland. Rescue Fest is a free event and fundraiser for local non-profit rescue groups. This event seeks to promote an educational message of the importance of responsible pet ownership and spay/neuter to reduce pet overpopulation. JCC South Orlando’s fourth annual Winter Festival will take place Sunday, Jan. 27, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at JCC South Orlando. The family festival will feature a real snow park, including sledding, a rock wall, horse and carriage rides, carnival rides, bounce houses, a video game arcade and more. Individuals ages 5 to adult can also enter the J Idol singing competition with celebrity judges for a chance to win $500 or an iPad Mini. FEB. 1

More than 40 local artists of all genres will display their works of art at the First Friday Charity Festival & Art Stroll on Friday, Feb. 1 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Village Center. The Arts Hub Florida and Baldwin Park Merchants Association are sponsors of the First Friday series that offers live music, drink specials, free samples, interactive activities and much more. The monthly event is free to the public and is both family-friendly and pet-friendly.

The Florida Hospital Lady Track Shack 5K will take place Saturday, Feb. 2, at Mead Garden in Winter Park at 1385 S. Denning Drive. The event, which will benefit the Florida Hospital Breast Cancer Care Fund, will begin with a 3.1 mile Run & Walk at 7:30 a.m. for women only, followed by a Kids’ Run at 8:45 a.m. Registration is required. “The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle” will be playing Jan. 24 through Feb. 24 at the Orlando Repertory Theatre. The production is perfect for all ages and will be performed in the style of Disney’s “The Lion King” or Animal Kingdom’s “Finding Nemo: The Musical,” with all of Dr. Dolittle’s animal friends portrayed by live actors with puppets.
