A Petrified Forest in Altamonte Springs, 1360 E. Altamonte Drive, will run Oct. 21-23 and 27-31. Private tours will be offered Oct. 25-26. Kid’s day will be Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Enjoy Haunted Halloween Hayrides and a Fall Festival from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22 and from 4-10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23 at Lake Pickett and Fort Christmas Road in East Orlando. Take a trip through 1,000 feet of backwoods behind Enzian Theater in Maitland during “Haunted Swamp: Walk of Terror 2011” from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Oct. 22-23 and Oct. 29-31. Tickets cost $8 day of and $6 in advance.

New Hope for Kids third annual Hold ‘em and Roll ‘em and Halloween costume party will be happening at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29 at Fields BMW, 963 N. Wymore Road in Winter Park. The 11th Annual Haunted Halloween at Waterford Lakes Town Center, 413 N. Alafaya Trail, will take place from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 with a costume contest at 6 p.m. This free event is for the whole family.

The fourth annual “Hoooowl for the Arts” & Casino Night is happening from 6-10 p.m. on Oct. 30 at Seminole Harley Davidson, 620 Hickman Circle in Sanford. This fundraiser BBQ features unique handcrafted masks created by community artists and celebrities to be auctioned off. Tickets cost $25. Avalon Park’s Spooktacular will take place from 5-9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30. The free event will feature a bounce park, live performances, a costume parade, a pumpkin carving contest and trick or treating.

A Halloween 5K Fun Run will be held at Mead Gardens at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30. All proceeds will go to help Haiti. Tickets for pre-registered adults are $20, students are $15 and children 12 and younger are $10. It is $25 for everyone on the day of the event. The 11th Annual Pet Costume Contest will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, at Park Avenue and Canton Avenue. Halloween Howl, which will be held from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, is a safe, free, daytime Halloween celebration for families at the Mills Lawn, Rollins College, 100 Holt Ave. Across campus there will be haunted houses, Trick-or-treating, arts and crafts activities, carnival games and a costume contest for the children who attend.
