Come celebrate family fun days through the Maitland Art Center on select dates. On July 21, make a family tree at the A&H’s Maitland Historical Museum. On Aug. 18, learn about calling cards, the social network of the past, at the A&H’s Waterhouse Residence Museum. On Sept. 15, make sound waves and string telephones at the A&H’s Telephone Museum.

Enzian’s annual KidFest Summer Movies series offers free weekday screenings and $5 presentations on weekends. The “sun”sational schedule, sponsored by Walt Disney World, kicks off Sunday, July 22, and continues through Sunday, Aug. 5. For more information, visit Enzian.org

Create your own movie at KidFest Young Filmmakers’ summer camp! This two-week summer camp, July 23–27 and July 30–Aug. 3, is located at Enzian Theater and open to children entering grades 5-8. No previous experience is required. Participants will learn about the history of filmmaking, and dive into the production of an independent film. The 55-year-old Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras has openings for their annual summer day camp, Stringmania, a two-week program for string players ages 7 to 15, who are playing at a Suzuki book 2 level or higher. The Art & History Museums – Maitland and the Cornell Fine Arts Museum on the Rollins College campus take part in the Blue Star Museums program, in which active duty military and their families can enjoy free museum admission at more than 1,500 museums nationwide from Memorial Day until Labor Day. At 10:30 a.m. each Tuesday, the Maitland Public Library hosts preschool story and craft time. At 10:30 a.m. each Thursday, it hosts baby time stories and activities. At 4 p.m. each Thursday, it hosts Reading Buddies for kindergarten through fifth grade. Call 407-647-7700.

There is still time to register for Winter Park Day Nursery’s Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program that will begin on Aug. 20.
