Join the Maitland Senior Center on Thursday Feb. 21 at 12:45 p.m. for Bunko! Come play for fun and win prizes!

From Feb. 5th – April 11 the American Association of Retired Persons will be offering free tax assistance on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 4 p.m. at the Maitland Senior Center. Assistance is on a first come, first served basis. Please make sure to bring all appropriate tax information with you.

Starting Feb. 6, join the Center for a brand new group – Writing Our Memoirs every Wednesday at 1 p.m. Come join this fun and informal group that will help you to write your memoirs!

Join Audrey every Tuesday in February at 10:30 a.m. for Line Dance Lessons. The class is 1.5 hours and perfect for both beginner and intermediate dancers. Cost of the class is $4 to the teacher.

Join in every Monday and Friday in February at 1 p.m. to see your favorite movies! Check our calendar online to see what movies are showing in February.

Join John every Monday, Thursday, and Friday in February at 9 a.m. for Yoga. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring your own mat. Cost of the class is $2 to the teacher.

Do you like to knit or crochet? Do you like making new friends and sharing your favorite patterns? Then join the Knit & Crochet group every Monday in February at 10 a.m. Bring your current project and have some fun! And if Mondays don’t work for you, there is another Knit & Crochet group on Fridays at 10 a.m.

Join in every Monday in February at 1 p.m. for the Conversational French group. Spend some time chatting with others and making new friends.

Join Esther every Tuesday in February at 9 a.m. for Tai Chi classes. Cost of the class is $10 per month to the teacher.

Join in every Tuesday in February at 1 p.m. for the Conversational Spanish group. Spend some time chatting with others and making new friends. Must be fluent in Spanish to participate.

Join Donna every Thursday in February at 11:30 a.m. for Chair Yoga. Cost of the class is a $2 donation to the teacher.

The Maitland Senior Center presents a program for elders on the second Friday of the month that is staffed by counselors from S.H.I.N.E. (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders). The program provides free unbiased counseling about Medicare, Medigap, HMOs, Medicaid, Prescriptions Drug Plans, and Long Term Care. All counseling is first-come-first-served. Bring your list of medications or Rx bottles, insurance card and red, white and blue Medicare card.
