'Collected Stories by Donald Marguiles' extended at Mad Cow

JULY 18

Mad Cow Theatre is thrilled to announce the extension for “Collected Stories by Donald Margulies” directed by Denise Gillman. The production is in Mad Cow’s Black Box Theatre at 54 W. Church St. Performances on the extended schedule run July 18-21. Visit madcowtheatre.com for more information.

Experience the IKEA Red Chair and Visual Art Exhibits at CityArts Factory during the July Downtown Arts District Third Thursday Gallery Hop. This exhibit is free to the public and previews the 9th Annual Red Chair Affair, the kick-off to Central Florida’s 2013-2014 arts and cultural season. Exhibits premiere from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 18. The exhibits will remain on display through Saturday, Aug. 10. The Third Thursday Gallery Hop takes place at a series of galleries and non-traditional art venues throughout downtown Orlando.

The Art & History Museums – Maitland’s (A&H) Artist Critique & Conversation series is switching to a bi-monthly schedule, with the next critique taking place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, in the A&H’s Germaine Marvel Building, located at 210 W. Packwood Ave. This program is free and the public is encouraged to attend. The program now takes place on the fourth Tuesday of every other month, beginning this July.

There will be a free public event, Health Series #9: “Natural Solutions to Digestive Disorders,” starting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, at the Maitland Public Library at 501 S. Maitland Ave.

The Art & History Museums – Maitland proudly opens a new exhibition, “Artists’ Views of the Research Studio,” on Friday, July 26, in the A&H’s Maitland Art Center Galleries. Artists have long been inspired by the beauty and magical surrounding of the Research Studio. Enjoy this creative visual tour of the lush gardens, ornate buildings and picturesque surroundings as depicted by artists visiting, working and teaching at A&H. The exhibition continues through Oct. 6. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visit artandhistory.org for more information.

Forever Florida,” which will run through Wednesday, July 31, features the works of the Artisans on Fifth co-op’s 25 members, who are all artists living and working in the Central Florida area. Once again the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) downtown terminal will host some hot music and cool tunes. Every Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. July 16 through Aug. 20, a free hour-long Tunes in the Terminal concert will showcase musical talent from several Central Florida entertainers at LYNX Central Station (LCS). The first performance will be Christine MacPhail. MacPhail performs all styles of music from classical to contemporary and has been a professional harpist in Central Florida for more than 20 years.
