On Thursday, Oct. 23, the Junior League of Greater Orlando will host its seventh annual Halloween Hustle 5K from 5 to 10 p.m. in Baldwin Park. This annual event includes a 5K Run/Walk, a Kids Fun Run and post-race festivities including carnival-inspired activities and live entertainment. Advance registration is $30 per adult and $35 at the event. Registration for the Kids’ Fun Run (children 12 and under) is $10 on race day. The Goldenrod Area Chamber of Commerce would like to invite all to come out for a very exciting 36th annual Goldenrod Festival & Parade on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 4755 N. Palmetto Ave. in Winter Park, at the Goldenrod Station off of Aloma Avenue and Goldenrod Road. The day will begin at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast. Pet owners are encouraged to bring their furry friends dressed in their cutest costumes to Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Homes by 10 a.m. to enter to win first, second and third place prizes. The fifth annual Pumpkin Run 5K starts at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Mead Botanical Garden. The fundraiser benefits the people of Haiti with health, education and economic development. Dust off those fancy Western boots and get on down to Winter Park's West Meadow at 7 p.m. on Oct. 25 for the fourth annual Cows ‘n Cabs to benefit the Community Food & Outreach Center. At this Western-themed event, guests may expect some fancy food, music and spirits from more than 18 of Central Florida's top restaurants including 4 Rivers Smokehouse, Kres and K Restaurant, alongside newcomers such as Soco and P is for Pie Bakeshop. Harriett’s Park Avenue Fashion Week celebrates the local fashion and retail design community from Oct. 25 to Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s a full week of events, from trunk shows to designer meet-and-greets, packs a fashionable agenda. The Central Florida community is invited to enjoy Halloween Howl at Rollins College, a fun and safe daytime event for the entire family, on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 2 to 5 p.m. Some of the “spooky” activities offered include a costume contest, trick or treating, haunted houses, arts and craft activities and carnival games. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Children will have the opportunity to get a head start on trick or treating throughout the residence halls and tour haunted houses created by Rollins student organizations. The 15th annual Pet Costume Contest presented by The Doggie Door will feature a large dog contest at 11 a.m. and a small dog contest at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, at the corner of Park and Garfield avenues in downtown Winter Park. Pets can trick or treat from noon to 3 p.m. at more than 30 Park Avenue merchants. Call 407-644-2969.

On Sunday, Oct. 26, The Jewish Pavilion, an Orlando-area organization dedicated to supporting the elderly, will be holding its fifth annual Fall Festival to raise awareness and funds to support the elderly in the community. The event is in honor of Bunny Rosen, a long-time Orlando resident. The Jewish Pavilion Fall Festival and Walk includes a free bagel breakfast, entertainment, a health fair, activities for children, and dozens of vendors.
