WINTER GARDEN  The Winter Garden community is rallying around a local employee who suffered a medical emergency earlier this week.

Winter Garden Pizza Company reached out to the community Wednesday, May 11, asking for prayers for employee and nursing student Brook Richardson.

Richardson was working out Monday night when she suddenly had difficulty breathing. After being rushed to the hospital, she is currently in the hospital with a collapsed lung.

Although Richardson is expected to recover, her coworkers at the pizza company are rallying together to lift her up in prayer and collect donations to help her with her medical bills and getting back up on her feet.

“She’s a beautiful person inside and out, she works very hard and is well respected by her other coworkers,” said Debbie Liskey, a manager at WGPC.

Anyone who would like to help Richardson financially can visit WGPC at 42 W. Plant St., ask for a manager and explain that they would like to make a donation in her honor.
