Elderly couple found dead in home near Ocoee

Sheriff's deputies are treating the incident as an open and active death investigation with the OCSO Homicide Squad.

UPDATE:

According to OCSO, the medical examiner’s office concluded Gary and Helen Pritchard each died from a gunshot wound. Gary Pritchard's wound was self-inflicted, they said. The OCSO Homicide Squad is still working to determine Helen Pritchard's manner of death.

ORANGE COUNTY  Sheriff's deputies are investigating an incident in which an elderly couple was found dead inside their home near Ocoee. 

Orange County Sheriff's Office received a call in the early evening hours on Wednesday, June 28, regarding two people found dead inside their home on Calathea Drive — east of Good Homes Road and just south of Balboa Drive.

Deputies identified the couple as 70-year-old Gary Pritchard and his wife, Helen Pritchard, 72. Their bodies were discovered by their son, deputies said, and he is cooperating with police during the investigation.

OCSO's Homicide Squad is treating this as an active and open death investigation. The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy and determine the cause and manner of death.
