It has been 25 years since Dr. Jeffery Redding directed the West Orange High School Choir and 15 years since the Winter Garden Community Choir began — and he is ready to celebrate unity.

Redding, director of choral activities at the University of Central Florida and the executive director of Orlando Choral Society, which houses Winter Garden Community Choir, has a big year planned.

The meet-and-greet kick off will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at Tanner Hall, 29 W. Garden Ave., Winter Garden. Rehearsals will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Winter Garden starting Aug. 22.

“The Winter Garden Community Choir is a none-auditioned choir,” Redding said. “We’re looking for people who have a heart for service and a heart to change lives through music. This year is about bringing the past and present together, as we look forward to the future, this is Winter Garden’s choir.”
