The Maitland Art and History Association has a new stage name — Art & History Museums, Maitland or A&H.

The new name comes with the launch of the nonprofit’s new brand, which includes a new logo and a new message, “Discover, Engage, Inspire,” according to a Thursday press release.

“The brand change more closely reflects all we currently offer as a cultural destination as well as our exciting plans for the future,” Andrea Bailey Cox, Director and CEO said in the release. “Moving forward, we will be better able to promote our historic properties, art and history exhibits, and educational offerings with a unified message.”

The timing of this announcement is to coincide with United Arts’ ArtsFest, which begins Friday.

In May 2010, the merger of the Maitland Art Center and the Maitland Historical Society established an umbrella organization called the Maitland Art and History Association. The company operates and will be branded as the A&H (Art & History Museums, Maitland,) although its incorporated name will remain Maitland Art and History Association, Inc.

Art & History Museums, Maitland oversees the management of historic properties on two campuses including the Maitland Art Center, Maitland Historical Museum, The Telephone Museum, Waterhouse Residence Museum and Carpentry Shop Museum, Cottages at Lake Lily and Studios at Lake Lily.
