Residents of Ocoee got a movie theater of their own in 1987 when the Orange Tree Cinema Pub opened on Maguire Road. The two-story theater-drafthouse was owned by Nathan Dygraaf, who called it a first-class operation with deluxe interiors. It accommodated 250 people when first built.

Patrons could even reserve private screening areas upstairs that offered sofas and cushy chairs instead of the standard theater seating.

The theater has had several expansions and name changes over the years and is currently known as West Orange Cinema.
