I encountered "vibes" late. But I've come to trust vibes decisively. The Broadway Melody of 1936's tune: "I've got a feelin' you're foolin'"— sticks in my head as a warning signal. That "feelin'" translates precisely into today's "vibes".
Some latter-day vibes about Russia and WWII: Barack Obama talks about a different WWII than the one I was in. His "great patriotic war" and the "sacrifices of Russia" spring from his far-Left thinking in all he says and does. I believe the Russian's would now be speaking German if we hadn't supplied the overwhelming Army, Navy and Air Force that crushed the Nazis, and saved Russia's a--. Communist Russia could not have fought without American gifts of war materièl. Our liaison with Russia arose from our having a common enemy. Never forget that Russia joined forces with Germany and was on the "totalitarian" side until Hitler insanely invaded Russia in 1941. Who won anything in WWII? Did anyone thank the U.S.?
Musing, President Obama's impetus is to corrupt more than half of the U.S. voting population. When and if this happens, the party system in American politics will come to an end and every vote will be a "done deal," bought and paid for.
Advancing thoughts, Monica Crowley sure has the goods on Obama: "When things go wrong, Obama does two things—calls in lawyers, and raises taxes".
And then the Federal, and the Arizona state governments do nothing while the border remains wide open to illegal immigrants and drugs— this suits Obama fine. He's counting future votes and seems to win in this muddled enigma— presently anyway.
Furthermore, solving the Gulf of Mexico oil-spill catastrophe stalls to a near-stop while bureaucrats laboriously ponder the fate of millions of citizens living on land around the Gulf.
Scarily, unemployment seems now to be accepted as though it were an undesirable in-law lodger. Obama's hefty Stimulus Bill injections into the economy have hardly produced a ripple. "More of the same" would make little sense.
Also, Sen. Christopher Dodd ( D.-CT.) declares that the 2,000 page Bank & Wall Street Regulation Bill will be understood only after those who pass it get around to reading it!
And, healthcare looms menacingly as a not-fully-revealed bag of worms which our Washington representatives voted for— in a moment of senselessness—while thumbing their nose at popular opinion.
Finally, everyone who has read Marx and Engles senses that George Soros is setting us up to be toppled. And yet, we stumble forward, without a thought of the existential danger all around us. Marx started the wheel of discord turning. And the result is the total chaotic political situation in which the West now twists and turns. We desperately seek a direction— while George Soros & Co. rejoice at the insecurity of our intellectual stance.
We take courage from Browning's Rabbi Ben Ezra, who said, "Come, grow old with me, the best is yet to be." The thinkers want security here and now— zealots pray for it, in a sacred never-never-land. Take your choice!
