The guy appointed to run health care for Mr. Obama is one Donald Berwick, who sees “sharing the wealth” as an essential part of his program. This concept will surely demand some fancy explanations so that we commoners may dig what this character is talking about.
Mort Zuckerman says Mr. Obama is neither strong enough to confront his enemies, nor strong enough to support his friends.
These days we watch in paralyzed fascination as the land we were brought up to love changes into an amorphous incongruity.
Mike Huckabee says, “Obama’s economic recovery ‘tonic’ smells like snake oil. I’m no financial expert — and I’m glad the investing markets have bounced back a bit — but something about this so-called ‘recovery’ just doesn’t smell right. What kind of real recovery takes place when 8 million jobs are lost, unemployment is locked at 10 percent, and Americans (hundreds of thousands of whom are trapped with ‘underwater’ mortgages) are holding on to their wallets for dear life? And when our president is burdening taxpayers with huge new entitlement programs on top of huge old entitlement programs already going broke — and printing trillions of inflated dollars to pay for it all?” (Where’s the financial wizard Obama who blew his own horn so loudly in his campaign?)
The American people know that Mr. Obama’s plan to lower health costs, while expanding coverage and bureaucracy, is ridiculous. Something that never was and never can be — a bureaucracy lowering costs in a free society. Either costs go up, or the free society evanesces … an historical truth.
We face a terrible loss of freedom with Mr. Obama’s new health care system. Medicare is now nine times as expensive as was originally predicted. Couple that with the projected controls on our lives to “protect us” from global warming, which is itself largely a fraud if it is believed to be caused by man.
Ben Stein says, “Mr. Obama knows Americans are getting wise and will catch on if he delays at all in taking away our freedoms. Once our freedom is lost, America is lost. Wake up, beloved America.”
The Democrats have proved their undoubted genius by “stimulating us” into one of the worst financial quandaries we have ever known — some experts declare our national debt to be “unrepayable.”
Our Karl Marx-inspired administration is trying to spend its way out of a depression, while minimizing the true number of unemployed. Can anyone show us a nation, or a city, that has permanently solved its deficits by extravagant spending?
The Democrats would use the energy takeover as an enormously effective control mechanism. Just another in the long line of “power grabs.”
Iran: The country that no president, save for Reagan, has stood up to condemns “an adulteress” to 100 lashes and death by stoning, and executes a boy of 7 as a U.S. spy. I would call Iran outrageous, vicious, bloodthirsty, barbarous, uncivilized, inhumane, fierce, brutish and savage, etc. Will you find any of my words used by our president to describe a nation that stones women and executes 7-year-old children?
