Suzanne W. Babineau, a resident of Dennis and Yarmouth, Cape Cod, Mass., for more than 50 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness August 19th.

Suzanne was born in Attleboro, Mass., and graduated from Attleboro High School. Shortly afterward she moved to the Cape and would start a family. She worked as a real estate broker for 40 years, most recently at Today Real Estate in South Yarmouth following several years at Reef Realty in West Dennis. Many of the people whom she worked alongside and many she helped to find and buy homes became her lifelong friends. She was a devoted Christian and a member of St. Pius X Church. She loved sitting out in the sun and was a talented cook and artist.

She is survived by her children: Jody-Lyn Babineau of South Dennis, and Jeffrey E. Babineau (and wife Jane) of Oviedo, Fla.; a sister, Jane Paquette of Attleboro; five grandchildren: Alyson Lee and Louis V. Almonte; Keith and Derek Bisgounis; and Luke Babineau; and one great-grandson, Leonardo Vincent Almonte. She was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Dale Worrall, atop whom her ashes will rest, and by her brother, Dale O. Worrall. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews, and friends across the Cape and beyond.

She was a doting and devoted grandmother, attending important social functions, school concerts and sporting events, always finding ways to show her support. Her advice, her wisdom and her presence followed one central theme: Love. (Really, who sends cards with $10 inside on Halloween?) For that, Grandma Sue, your grandchildren are forever thankful.

We are born and one day we depart this earth, and to Suzanne, it was of utmost importance how she filled the "dash" between those dates. She filled it with incredible kindness and grace, with caring, with endless generosity, and by always finding ways to make the lives of her family and friends richer. Whether she joined friends on a weekly MLS realty tour or in Hyannis at The Captain's Table, she was smiling, laughing and enjoying the people she was around. In the end, she faced death with courage and dignity and great faith in a new life that awaited her. She was thoroughly and thoughtfully detailed, and in a letter she left her children, she wrote she had lived a good life. And certainly along the way, she touched so many others and helped to make their lives better, too.

A memorial service will be held at St. Pius X Church in South Yarmouth at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 25. Suzanne's ashes will be laid to rest in Attleboro. In 1988, Suzanne faced breast cancer and defeated it.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that a small donation be made to the American Cancer Society.
