In the movie “ It's a Wonderful Life”, George Bailey thinks his life has been a failure but an angel comes down and shows him that without his contribution to others, an entire town and the lives of the people in it would have been much worse.
We here at Christian HELP do not need an angel to show us this. This year we have connected 7361 to jobs and given away 1,120,077 lbs of food to families who are having a hard time surviving in the present economy.
In the last few months alone, the need has increased 30 percent and the small building that we currently operate out of in Casselberry is unable to keep up with the demand. Offices are shared, staff are having to work remotely, job skill classes are taught in the afternoon so as not to get caught up in the flow of the unemployed being served earlier in the day, volunteers are being turned down as there is no space for them to serve!
God has always been faithful and provided for our needs. He has been our source of strength and provision and He has done this through people like George Bailey.
Imagine being able to access a Christian business where classes are ongoing, a modern, spacious computer lab allows for easy access to job searches, clients are greeted in a lobby that is bright and has adequate seating, there’s a greeting and meeting room for board meetings, small seminars and luncheons. Employees and volunteers are assigned their own space not invaded with storage boxes, shared desks and close working quarters.
We are now praying and believing for our Christmas Miracle — a larger facility to be donated by someone so that we continue to change lives in our community just like George Bailey changed lives in his community.
Could you be the George Bailey God uses?
