The Armand Marchesano Orchestra will play music for dancing from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Beardall Center on Gore Street and Orange Avenue. There is $4 admission, which includes some refreshments provided by the city of Orlando. Also, please bring a covered dish to share. A Caregiver Support Group for persons caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease or another dementia will be held on Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. at Compass Clinic, 100 W. Gore St., Orlando. Learn about available resources and meet with others in the same situation as yourself. The program is free and only open to caregivers. For more information, call 1-800-272-3900.

An AARP Driver Safety Class will be held Aug. 29 at the Westchester Assisted Living Facility at 558 N. Semoran Blvd. Winter Park. Cost is $12 for AARP members or $14 for non-AARP members. Through Aug. 31, it’s $5 for anyone who has worked or is currently working in the educational field — teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, home schooling parents, teachers’ assistants, retired teachers, etc. There will be a free class soon for veterans and their spouses (widows/widowers) retired and currently serving. The classes are open to everyone 50 and older. Completion of the class gives them a discount on their vehicle insurance. Call 1-888-227-7669. • Aug. 7: Nicole Santapola, BS, Program Manager for Health Education and Cancer Prevention at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Orlando, will be our speaker. Nicole comes to us with a personal and professional passion for educating and working with others on prevention and lifestyle changes in regards to eating a whole foods diet. She will “plant new seeds of truth” highlighting whole grains & the importance of them in our everyday meals. She will share good, better and best choices with our food, sharing recipes. Refreshments will be served.
• Aug. 21: Join Sandra Rains, a financial education specialist from CredAbility.org, as she talks about Identity Theft and how to stay safe. She will share information on what an identity thief looks for, how they get your information, ways to protect yourself, and what steps to take if you are an identity theft victim. Refreshments will be served.

The Maitland Senior Center presents a program for elders on the second Friday of the month (Aug. 10) that is staffed by counselors from S.H.I.N.E. (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders).
