'Puss in Boots' on lawn

Enjoy a free movie and popcorn on the lawn at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, as Orangewood Church and School in Maitland invite the community for “Puss in Boots”. Admission, popcorn and parking are free. The event will be at Orangewood Field, 1300 W. Maitland Blvd. Visit orangewoodmovienight.com.

The fifth annual Junior League of Greater Orlando’s Kids in the Kitchen Fit-n-Fun Fest will feature more than 40 exhibitors, free giveaways, nutrition professionals and much more. The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at South Central Park in Winter Park.

Storytime at Leu Gardens presented by Nemours BrightStart! is at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 5, at Orange County Library System's storytelling program comes to Leu Gardens the first Monday of each month, excluding holidays. Enzian’s Popcorn Flicks in Central Park is 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, featuring “The Man Who Knew Too Much” at the Central Park Main Stage in Winter Park.

Sunday, March 4, at 2:30 p.m. is MPL's Learning Cultural Center Author series: "The Amazing Gift of Laughter" by Catherine Giordiano. Find out how to let laughter improve your life.

Monday, March 5, at 7 p.m. is MPL's Learning Cultural Center Nutrition series: "Gluten-free, it's not just baking." Local cook George Glaser will demonstrate how to make a gluten-free smoothie and a special soup. Please register for this free workshop, 407-647-7700.

Wednesday, March 7, at 4 p.m. Children's Culture Club: Ireland will be the highlighted country of the month.

Wednesday, March 7, at 6:30 p.m. is MPL's Learning Cultural Center Health series: "Asthma and Allergies" program provided by the Wellness Foundation of Maitland.

Saturday, March 11, at 3 p.m. celebrate St. Patrick's Day early by coming to the Maitland Public Library and be entertained by Watter's School of Irish Dancers. Learn about the culture and see some fantastic costumes.

Each Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. the Maitland Public Library hosts preschool story and craft time. Each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. it hosts baby time stories and activity. Each Thursday at 4 p.m., it hosts Reading Buddies for kindergarten through fifth-grade. No registration necessary. Call 407-647-7700. Each Friday at 10 a.m., the library hosts the LCC Networking for Seniors Lab – this lab is a practice time for class attendees to try their new networking social skills. Please register.
