Rachel Newcomb, an associate professor of anthropology at Rollins College, was recently appointed to the Diane and Michael Maher Chair of Distinguished Teaching. A gift from Rollins alumnus Michael Maher and the Christian A. Johnson Endeavor Foundation, the endowed chair was established to honor and further the college’s reputation and efforts in the art of teaching.

Orlando artists bring their artistic talent and creative minds to the new Death By Pop-Up Shop in Orlando’s Audubon Park District. Formally the retail store known as Death By Pop, the space is now re-created as a pop-up shop run by Orlando artists such as The B-Side Artist collective and The 3Bears. Working together with other Orlando artists, the space will serve as a retail storefront with an art gallery where they can hold classes and events to support local art while also raising money to fund the space.

Michelle Covelli-Hodge, MSN, RN, FCN, BS, a native of Maitland, and a parish nurse at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, has earned her Faith Community Nurse specialty certificate from the Florida Hospital FCN Institute.

Andrew R. Finkelstein, shareholder in the Corporate & Securities and Financial Institutions practice groups in the Orlando office for the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, has been elected to serve as president of the Board for the Historical Society of Central Florida.
