Louis Roney: When lying isn't enough

Chicago seems especially visible for pushing the worst of our society into national view. In my childhood, it was Al Capone and his mob. Of today’s crowd, take your pick!

There are those critical people seemingly convinced that Obama is an “American hater” whose goal is to shrink the U.S. economy, thereby making us no longer the leading world power that we have long been. Are our recurring recessions merely identifiable stops along the way?

The national and international political pictures are not comforting ones to Americans who love our country, its founders and its traditions. More and more iconoclasts are joining the motley mob intent on changing the U.S. beyond all recognition.

Example: Obama recently stated that he has “evolved” in his thinking about “traditional marriage.” Is his mind constantly harboring other “evolving” concepts?

Next, suppose that he “evolves” in his thinking about guns. Kiss your firearms bye-bye.

We all know about ObamaCare — health care by panel — but who’ll know when there is a doctor in the house?! The price of ObamaCare? Don’t worry, it may be incidental in the plan to bankrupt us.

For a while now, Obama has been “ruling” by executive fiat. (King Obama or just more evolving?) What if the Obama presidency becomes a kind of non-stop merry-go-round in political Washington, and we find we can’t get him out of town afterward? Could Obama, for his private use, cook up a big chaos that would place him in the presidency indefinitely? Suppose he found it possible to create a national crisis and declare martial law? Could we stop him?

Now we have an American ambassador murdered and President Obama’s immediate reaction sounds like yet another American apology. (Can you imagine what Teddy Roosevelt’s reaction would have been?)

Think about this one: Obama’s next appointment to the Supreme Court — How does the ring of “Justice Eric Holder” suit you among the “beauties” already ensconced there? Goodbye Constitution! Obama’s “Dreams from My Father” lurks ever closer.

As to our borders? Forget it! Anyone can come and go as he wishes as long as he’s voting for Obama, who may keep himself in the White House if he decides he deserves it (more evolving?). Law? The Constitution? Ha! Women’s rights, religious freedom, sexual choice, social affairs — forget this stuff — without one’s home, money and job, the rest of these things won’t matter much.

When Obama was running the first time, he actually said in April 2008, “We’re not going to do negative ads. We’re going to keep positive and talk about the issues.” Then he added that George W. Bush’s increase of the national debt was “unpatriotic.” (Bush: small potatoes — $4.9 trillion in eight years — to what Obama has racked up — more than $5.3 trillion in three and a half years time.) No matter what Obama declared in April 2008, by September 2008 he was running ads smearing his opponent, John McCain. (Is this evolving or lying?) He told Newsweek reporter Richard Wolffe, “You know I actually believe my own bull—.” (Check it out — it’s true.)

Obama is two-faced and a practiced liar. He constantly tells you how wonderful he is and what he’s going to do — he doesn’t do it and then blames someone else (usually GWB, the Republicans or Congress.) On any given day you’ll hear any story Obama chooses to promote.

It’s Peter Principle time for Obama — he has surpassed the level of his lying competence. Believe Obama and his “something-for-nothing promises” and America, as we know it, is past history.
