Kicks 4 Guns

On Thursday, Aug. 22, the Winter Park Police Department will be participating in the annual “Kicks 4 Guns” initiative sponsored by Real Radio. Between the hours of 7 a.m. and noon, anyone can come to the Fairbanks Bowl, located at 1111 W. Fairbanks Ave. in Winter Park (just east of the intersection of Fairbanks Avenue and U.S. Highway 17-92) and turn in any firearm in exchange for a $50 gift card to Publix. No questions asked. One gift card for each gun submitted will be honored up to two guns. BB- and pellet-type guns will not receive a card but will be taken and destroyed upon request.

This initiative is for members of the community who wish to safely turn in firearms for destruction. All firearms turned in will be destroyed. This initiative is not intended for pawn shop owners or gun dealers to dispose of firearms they have been unable to sell.
