JULY 11

The first CoffeeTalk of the 2013 season featuring Vice Mayor Sarah Sprinkel will be held Thursday, July 11, at 8 a.m. at the Winter Park Welcome Center located at 151 W. Lyman Ave. Initiated in 2005, CoffeeTalk has become the place for citizens that have “a latte beans to grind” or who simply want to “espresso their thoughts” to their city leaders in a more casual, informal environment and avoid the stage fright that is often experienced at large meetings.

Garden Talks with Hortus Oasis: Making it in the Shade is from noon to 1 p.m. July 11 at the Winter Park Public Library, 460 E. New England Ave. Gardening and landscaping professionals Stephen and Kristin Pategas will teach best practices and plant selection for successful gardening in the shady areas of your lawn and garden. Brown bag lunches are welcome. Cost is $5. Visit wppl.org for more information.
