Southern Methodist University grads
Southern Methodist University announces Jonathan Hill, a resident of Maitland, received a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance, Bachelor of Science in management science, mathematics during the May commencement. Matthew Levine, a resident of Winter Park, received a Master of Business Administration in general business during the May commencement. Dylan Smith, a resident of Winter Park, received a Master of Music in trumpet performance during the May 2013 commencement.
Women’s Executive Council scholarships
In June, the Women’s Executive Council pinned the Inaugural members of the 1972 Society. Giving Circle Society Members are: Cathy Droke, Dauri Sandison, Martha Harriman, Bobbi Govanus, and Eva Shoemaker. And Volunteer Society Member is Deanna Snyder. Our diamond member, Dorothy Russell, named the scholarship in memory of her mother Margaret D. Jennings.
The Women’s Executive Council will award scholarships in the amount of $1,972 at the group’s annual Women’s Achievement Awards Event at the Citrus Club on Sept. 30. All profits and direct donations fund college scholarships to Central Florida women through the 501(c)3 Women’s Executive Council’s Scholarship & Endowment Fund Inc.
Rollins volunteers
In June, more than 50 Rollins College Upward Bound students ventured to The Mustard Seed of Central Florida to donate their time through volunteerism. They helped raise more than $2,300 worth of in-kind community support for our organization. They helped clean, sort donations, organize, deconstruct mattresses and box springs, pair shoes, and even helped trim trees and shrubs.
