JULY 20

The Art & History Museums – Maitland (A&H) invites you to celebrate the city of Maitland at Family Days at the Museum on Saturday, July 20, beginning at 1 p.m. This month the program takes place in the A&H’s Maitland Historical Museum, located at 221 W. Packwood Ave. ”Happy Birthday Maitland” is the theme for July’s Family Days. It’s the city of Maitland’s birthday and the A&H is throwing a birthday party! Come join in fun birthday activities, have a piece of birthday cake, and explore the Maitland Historical Museum to see photos of Maitland growing up over the past 128 years.

JULY 22

Orville & Company Ventriloquism will be at the Eatonville Branch of Orange County Public Library starting at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 22. Join puppet Orville and his friends as they learn the importance of good character. Presented by puppeteer Steve Knight. JULY 24

The JCC of Maitland’s annual 5K Road Race kicks off at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, at the JCC of Maitland. Help raise money for the Marvin Friedman Children’s Scholarship Fund and honor Keith and Julie Levitt. Visit orlandojcc.org for more information.

JULY 27

The Orlando JCC’s Saturday Night Out Sleepover is from 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, to 9 a.m. on Sunday, July 28, at the JCC of South Orlando. All ages will have lots of fun playing games and doing activities. Children ages 5-12 can then pull out their sleeping bags and spend the night at the J. Breakfast will be served Sunday morning. Admission to all of Art & History Museums – Maitland museums will be free for all Maitland residents through July 31, including the Maitland Art Center, Maitland Historical Museum, Telephone Museum, Waterhouse Residence Museum and the Carpentry Shop Museum. But even if you can’t get in free, it’s only $3 for adults, and $2 for seniors and children ages 4-18. Visit artandhistory.org for more information.

The Cornell Fine Arts Museum, Art & History Museum – Maitland, and the Florida Museum of Natural History announce the launch of Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 1,800 museums across America to offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2013.
