Winter Park developer Dan Bellows is hoping his Ravaudage mixed-use development will be able to grow faster with a bit of help from tax dollars.

The developer successfully petitioned the City Commission March 18 to bring to a vote an ordinance that would form a Commercial Development District (CDD) for the development. The first vote will occur at the March 25 Commission meeting.

The CDD could help funnel money back into infrastructure and development of the mixed-use development, which would be governed by its own board of directors.

Ravaudage opened its first business last month, Miller’s Winter Park Ale House restaurant.

The proposed CDD would funnel “a significant portion” of Ravaudage businesses’ taxes back into the area for 35 years. It would also allow the developers to raise money with untaxed bonds.

The meeting begins at 3:30 p.m. March 25.
