The Parthenon is a presentation and book signing by fine art photographer and Voice Arts Editor Josh Garrick coming up at 2 p.m. June 1. From the most famous of temples to the Olympian gods, the Parthenon has endured through the world’s transition to Christianity, looting, and even bombardment by the Venetian Doges. Josh will share the highlights — and low-lights — of the Parthenon’s enduring history. The presentation will be at the Winter Park Public Library, 460 E. The University Club of Winter Park will present “A Princess of Great Courage” by Lynn Schiffhorst on Monday, June 2, at 10 a.m. Prince Philip’s mother, Alice of Hesse – who married into the Greek Royal Family – coped with deafness and schizophrenia her whole life. She lived a life dedicated to the relief of suffering people during two wars and has been honored in Israel as one of the “Righteous Among the Nations.” The University Club of Winter Park is located at 841 N. The Art & History Musuems-Maitland will host a Civil War Picnic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, on the lawn of the Waterhouse Residence Museum.
