United Arts of Central Florida seeks to help budding artists

United Arts of Central Florida recently announced workshops to help Central Florida artists apply for Artists in Communities Grants of up to $2,500. United Arts’ Artists in Communities Grants place artists in local community settings, working on projects that benefit seniors, at-risk kids and other underserved groups. Winter Park local nabs dean’s list recognition

Winter Park resident Jo Wolf was named to the 2014 dean’s list at Columbia College’s Orlando Campus. To be named to the dean's list, a student must have completed 12 semester hours in a 16-week period and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a four-point scale.

Winter Park Chamber in search of artists

The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce is seeking young artists to enter the annual holiday art competition. Students are asked to create original illustrations of what the holidays mean to them. Winners will have their artwork digitized and printed on vinyl banners to decorate the light poles along Morse Boulevard in downtown Winter Park. Awards will be presented in two age groups, 0-7 and 8-13, with one entry per person, please. Artwork and entry forms should be submitted to the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 280, Winter Park, FL 32790 or delivered to the Winter Park Welcome Center, 151 W.
