Tax holiday approaching

The 2015 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday runs from 12:01 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16. Lists of qualifying items and frequently asked questions can be found at myflorida.com/dor

Local attorneys recognized

William R. Lowman, Jr., Heidi W. Isenhart and Alexander "Alex" S. Douglas, II, partners with the law firm of ShuffieldLowman, have been selected as 2015 Florida Super Lawyers. Stephanie Cook has been named a Rising Star. Super Lawyers, created by Thomson Reuters, recognizes attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their legal practice.

Grant awarded to complete Capen House

The Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Garden is excited to announce that Orange County Arts and Cultural Affairs has awarded them a cultural facilities matching grant of $107,000 to complete the Capen House project. The grant will fund a new parking area, repairs to the historic home and new LED lighting for the museum’s permanent exhibits.
