Fatal crash at major DP intersection

DR. PHILLIPS  Florida Highway Patrol officials are investigating an incident from about 12:43 a.m. Dec. 2, in which a car fatally struck a pedestrian at Turkey Lake and Sand Lake roads.

Brandon Shockley, 43, of Orlando, was driving north on Turkey Lake Road when his SUV hit a 46-year-old man whose identity is not yet public, according to reports.

Investigators report the pedestrian was lying in the roadway for an unknown reason when the car made contact.

This incident remains under investigation.
