Celebrate the Season of Light

Take time out of your holiday schedule this weekend to visit Lake Lily Park for a Maitland holiday tradition.

The city of Maitland’s Season of Light celebration will take place on Saturday, Dec. 5, beginning at 5 p.m. in Lake Lily Park.

This long-standing tradition is a prelude to the holiday season and is highlighted by the lighting of the holiday tree that will float in the center of Lake Lily until January 2016.

Entertainment from the Maitland Middle School Wind Ensemble, Chorus, Chamber Orchestra, Dommerich Elementary School Chorus, Colby Dancers, Maitland Academy Dancers and the Holly Sisters will delight one and all. Stilt-walkers, face painters, balloon twisters, and more will also be there to make you smile. Food will be available for purchase.

A fireworks finale is scheduled for 7 p.m.

What better way to get the entire family into the holiday spirit then to come out to the Season of Light celebration in Maitland’s Lake Lily Park? We hope to see you there. Happy holidays!
