New neighborhood park now open in Maitland

The Maitland City Council helped to open a new neighborhood park on the east side of Maitland during a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony that took place on Saturday, Dec. 12. The 2-acre Kings Row Park, which previously consisted of only an open space with several benches, has been upgraded with a number of improvements to the delight of area neighbors. New additions include the installation of a slide, swings, a defined walkway of pervious rubberized surfacing, trashcans, picnic areas, fencing, landscaping, parking, signage, as well as new turf to the athletic play area. All improvements are now complete with the exception of bollard lighting, which will run parallel to the new walkway around the perimeter of the park and is slated to be installed over the next several months. The park is now open to the public and available for use.

This area was identified as an area to be enhanced by the Maitland Parks and Recreation Master Plan and improvements were funded through the Maitland Parks Trust Fund. Kings Row Park is located at 1895 E. Adams Drive in Maitland. More information about this facility can be obtained by calling the Maitland Parks and Recreation Department at 407-539-6247.
