Maitland Middle teacher named OCPS Teacher of the Year

In a surprise announcement, Orange County Public Schools named the 2016 Orange County Teacher of the Year during a celebratory ceremony at the Rosen Centre Hotel. The top award was given to Maitland Middle School science teacher Lainie Clowers.

First Colony Bank promotes employee

The Board of Directors for First Colony Bank has promoted Jeremy Foley to assistant vice president of finance. First Colony, which commenced operations in 2008, is the only locally owned community bank headquartered in Maitland. In addition to his role in the finance area of the bank, Foley heads up the technology area as well.

Attorneys named firm shareholders

The law firm of Winderweedle, Haines, Ward & Woodman, P.A. recently named attorneys Michael C. Caborn, Michael P. Carolan, Nicole Latham Carolan, Timothy J. Kiley, Vanessa J. Skinner and Richard B. Weinman as firm shareholders. Established in Central Florida in 1931, the firm will celebrate its 85th anniversary in 2016.
