Maitland 2015 municipal election
A General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, March 10, in the city of Maitland, for the purpose of electing a mayor. The person elected to office will serve a three-year term commencing April 13.
At the close of the qualifying period on Jan. 23, the following individuals have officially qualified to run for the office of mayor: Linda J. Frosch (since withdrawn on Jan. 26), Doug Kinson and Dale McDonald.
The polling places for the upcoming Municipal Election will be the Maitland City Hall, 1776 Independence Lane, and the First Baptist Church of Maitland, 1950 Mohican Trial. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Registered voters may vote early at the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office, 119 W. Kaley St. in Orlando from March 2 through March 6 (call 407-836-2070 for early voting hours). Additionally, absentee ballots may be obtained by calling the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office at 407-836-2070.
Voter registration application forms are available at City Hall for all non-registered voters. City Hall business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. The last day to register prior to the election is Monday, Feb. 9.

Canvassing Board information for residents
In November 2007, the City Council amended the composition of the city of Maitland Canvassing Board. The Board is to be complied of one member of the City Council; the city manager or designee; the City Clerk and one citizen of Maitland appointed by the City Council.
The city of Maitland is currently looking for a volunteer to serve on the Canvassing Board for the upcoming election on March 10. As a volunteer, you will be required to be at the Supervisor of Elections Office on Tuesday, March 10, at 3 p.m. for the purpose of canvassing the returns.
The Board will meet again on Thursday, March 12, at 2 p.m. at the Supervisor of Elections to conduct a manual audit of the election results. During this time, the Board will manually count the ballots that were cast from one precinct.
