Celebrate Maitland’s birthday
Gather your friends and family and join us on Saturday, July 25, for Maitland's 130th birthday celebration at Lake Lily Park starting at 6 p.m.
This family-friendly event will feature a touch-a-truck exhibit with various vehicles in the city's fleet, such as a fire truck and a police cruiser. Take in performances by the Maitland Stage Band and Licorice Sticks. Learn more about Maitland's history and art.
Hair braiders, balloon artists, face painters, and carnival games will entertain the little ones. Bring your appetite for American summer eats and treats with hotdogs, hamburgers, popcorn, and Jeremiah's Italian Ice all available for purchase. Capping off this festival event, a fireworks show will begin at around 8:30 p.m.
Many thanks to event partners Art & History Museums-Maitland, Performing Arts of Maitland, Maitland Public Library, Maitland Men's Club, Maitland Women's Club, the Maitland Chamber of Commerce, The Venue on the Lake, and the Maitland Rotary Club for their participation to make this event a reality.
FDOT will host a public meeting on Maitland Boulevard upgrades on June 23
The Florida Department of Transportation is proposing improvements to Maitland Boulevard between east of Interstate 4 and Maitland Avenue. The project consists of reconstructing the existing four lanes suburban roadway into a six-lane divided urban roadway with curbs and gutters, sidewalks and a raised median. FDOT will be holding a public information meeting on Tuesday, June 23, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers, 1776 Independence Lane in Maitland. During this meeting, FDOT will provide design information and receive input from the Community.
Please note: more than one member of the Maitland City Council and of the city’s various boards/commission may be present at this public information meeting.
