Gov. Scott forms commission

Last week Gov. Rick Scott appointed nine Floridians to serve on the newly formed Commission on Healthcare and Hospital Funding, including Tom Kuntz of Winter Park. The governor recently signed Executive Order 15-99 creating the commission and tasking it to investigate the role of taxpayer funding for hospitals, insurers, and healthcare providers. The following people were appointed: Carlos Beruff, of Parrish; General Chip Diehl, of Tampa; Marili Cancio Johnson, of Key Biscayne; Tom Kuntz, of Winter Park; Eugene Lamb Jr. of Midway; Dr. Jason Rosenburg, of Gainesville; Dr. Ken Smith, of Estero; Sam Seevers, of Destin; and Robert Spottswood, of Key West. The governor also named AHCA Secretary Liz Dudek and Surgeon General John Armstrong as co-executive directors of the commission.
