CRA issues RFQ & RFP
On Oct. 26, the City Council and CRA Board approved the issuance of an RFQ for master planning services and an RFP for a branding and marketing plan for downtown Maitland.

The city of Maitland is pleased to announce the launch of the free smartphone app called My Maitland. Residents will be able to submit requests in the following areas: streets and roads; drainage and lakes; code enforcement; and garbage, yard waste or recycling. Additionally, residents can adjust settings on their phones to receive notifications related the service requests they’re following.
My Maitland is available on the Apple App Store and on Google Play.

Public Works pipeline
The Public Works Department continues its work for all Maitland residents. Here you will find a list of completed and pipeline projects.
Completed:
• Jim Houser Azalea Gardens: Amenity additions include a new pervious walkway, new signage, enhanced landscaping, benches, a picnic area, and parking enhancements.
In the pipeline:
• Lift Station #4 Diversion Project: This project entails construction of over 9,500 feet of sewer force main throughout the eastern service area of the city. To date, approximately 3,000 feet of pipe has been installed. The construction path continues on Dommerich Drive, Algonquin Trail, Arapaho Trail, and Mohican Trail. • Lake Sybelia Stormwater Project: The city of Maitland is in the process of installing two treatment systems to upgrade the Lake Sybelia stormwater system. Check the “Lake Sybelia Stormwater Project” webpage under “Project Updates” on itsmymaitland.com for updates.
• Pedestrian and bicycle access to the Maitland SunRail Station: Construction of the pedestrian and bicycle access, also known as the Greenwood Gardens boardwalk, has begun.
Things to do in Maitland this weekend
Nov. 7:
• “Maleficent” is this month's Screen on the Green feature. Showtime begins at 6 p.m. The Maitland Middle School Soccer Field at 1901 Choctaw Trail is the venue. Bring your chairs and blankets and we will bring you the stars!
Nov. 8:
• Skip the grocery store on Sundays and stop by Lake Lily Park to visit the Maitland
Farmers Market anytime from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Get your flu shot there as well. Maitland Fire Rescue staff will administer flu shots each Sunday through December. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/MFRDFluShot
• The Maitland Salutes Veterans event will take place on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 4 p.m. at Orangewood Church. A reception with American fare such as hamburgers, hot dogs, and cake follows the program, which includes a performance from the Maitland Military Band. For more information, call 407-674-2111.
