The city of Eatonville will be hosting events surrounding the 2015 Florida Classic Football Game that is being held on Saturday, Nov. 21. Although the game will be held at the Citrus Bowl near downtown Orlando, the scheduled events for after the game and the following day may cause a large increase in vehicle and pedestrian traffic beginning Friday, Nov. 20, and continuing through Sunday, Nov. 22.
Residents and employees of businesses can expect large traffic delays on and around the following roads: Lake Avenue, U.S. Highway 17-92 and Maitland Boulevard.
In addition, road closures will occur Sunday, Nov. 22, beginning at 1 p.m. through midnight on the following streets, with access available only to local residents and emergency vehicles: Wymore Road (Hope Road to Kennedy Boulevard) and Sandspur Road (Wymore Road to Maitland Avenue).
Also, to preserve local traffic on surrounding residential streets, the following roads will have limited access:
• Central Street
• Hillcrest Avenue
• Lake Destiny Road
• Windgrove Trail
• Grove Street
• Lake Avenue
• Ventris Avenue
• Fennell Street
• Keller Road
• Packwood Avenue
• Cottontail Lane
• Hope Road
• Lake Sybelia Avenue
To assist any visiting guests or employees, please take time to notify them of the expected increase in vehicle traffic to the area as well as road closures. Residents also should seek alternate routes in order to avoid traffic delays. For employees of businesses who are depending on the LYNX bus system as transportation, the schedules will operate as normal during these events.
Please remember to report any suspicious activity immediately. If an emergency should arise, please dial 9-1-1. For any non-emergency situations, dial 407-539-6262.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
