For one week, you could stroll 5th Avenue to check out Manhattan’s trunk shows. You could meet high-end fashion designers on Madison Avenue. You could bump into celebrities at a cocktail party at Provocateur. And you could watch models strut to a pounding beat amid dazzling lights in an eye-popping Central Park runway show.
Or you could do it all right here in Winter Park, and get the same 24/7 NYC fall glam experience without all the legwork. It’s Park Avenue Fashion Week, and it’s back to strut its stuff along the sidewalks and catwalks of the city’s most famous avenue.
Saturday, Oct. 10
It all starts this Saturday, with Yoana Baraschi, worn by Olivia Wilde, Lauren Conrad, Heidi Klum and more. Her clothes have gone worldwide, but she’s here at Tuni Winter Park for a special event Oct. 10.
Do you see Tag Heuer in your future? You might if you visit Eyes & Optics on Park Avenue on Saturday, hosting a Tag Heuer trunk show from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring Tag Heuer products and complimentary appetizers and refreshments.
Sunday, Oct. 11
Start your Sunday off healthy with a double event from Lululemon Athletica. At 6:30 a.m. kick your week off with the run club, with different distances and pacing. Meet at 200 N. Park Ave. at 6:20 a.m. to warm up. Later, from 9 to 10 a.m. they’ll host a complimentary yoga class where you can meet yogis and yoginis throughout the community.
It gets official when the Alfond Inn Courtyard pops the corks on the Inaugural Kickoff Brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday featuring mimosas and bloody marys. Your ticket includes two drink vouchers, food and valet parking.
Monday, Oct. 12
Meet bamboo eyewear designer Sam Spade and natural art and metal jeweler Kelly Cimber at Tuni Winter Park on Monday. The same day you can come out to Glorious Beautiful Hair Supply & Boutique Showroom for the Caring Hair Collection from 1 to 4 p.m., partnering with Base Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation, and continuing through Thursday.
Monday night, stop by Park Social for Fashion of Cocktails, the second annual bartending competition produced by Shel Marks PR & Events and partnering with Infinium Spirits. Guests and judges get to vote for their favorite cocktail, with the winning bartender receiving the grand prize. It’s all from 6 to 9 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 13
Tuni keeps Fashion Week looking good with a showcase of Karen Walker sunglasses, worn by Scarlett Johansson, Beyoncé and Charlize Theron.
Wednesday, Oct. 14
Donate your old bras and receive complimentary bra fittings and 20 percent off new bras at LaBella Intimates & Boutique’s Bras for a Cause, along with their Sophisticated Peacock Trunk Show featuring Winter Park designer Diane Meltz.
Tuni showcases Diane von Furstenberg, pioneer of the wrap dress in the workplace to replace dowdy pantsuits. Tuni also shows off Alice McCall’s eclectic, playful style, seen on Iggy Azalea and Isabelle Cornish.
The Bar Method will present a mini-class and Sassy Pants Trunk Show from 5 to 8 p.m. Check out fashionable workout clothes and bring a friends for a complimentary 30-minute exercise class. Healthy lite bites and a juice and H20-infusion bar will be on hand.
Sugar Shoe Lounge presents The Art of Footwear from 5 to 8 p.m. with exclusive private-label shoes, handbags and other accessories. Enjoy 10 percent off discounts and raffle prizes, plus live music, lite bites and drinks.
Alex and Ani want you to be Charmed by Charity benefiting Winter Park Memorial Hospital’s Pink Out from 6 to 8 p.m. Enjoy complimentary refreshments, appetizers and door prizes, and 15 percent of proceeds will go to the hospital.
Thursday, Oct. 15
Tuni invites you to see Virgins, Saints & Angels, tiny style pieces that go with everything, which, like all of Tuni’s showcases, will also be available all week long.
Thursday is when party time really starts revving up, with four cocktail parties at once. Scout and Molly’s brings you Blouses, Blushes and Bubbles from 5 to 8 p.m. with shopping specials, makeup tips and bubbly, plus gift card giveaways.
John Craig and Current host a charity cocktail party from 6 to 8 p.m. for Making the Difference. Beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Eileen Fisher hosts a party and sale from 6 to 8 p.m. featuring their runway models showcasing this seasons hot looks, plus sparkling wine and lite bites. Ten percent of proceeds will benefit Pink Out!
Luma on Park presents a Luma Fashion Fete starting at 8:30 p.m. featuring an exclusive showcase of fall fashion plus live entertainment, runway presentations, food and custom cocktails.
Friday, Oct. 16
Red Carpet Couture and Gems showcases A Taste of Couture from 2 to 6 p.m. featuring discounts up to 70 percent off, plus hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.
Tuni brings you Rebecca Taylor’s feminine, refined, modern style of playful prints and dynamic textures, seen on Reese Witherspoon and Kate Middleton.
Saturday, Oct. 17
Tonight is the big event, but don’t forget to top by Tuni for Black Halo, famed for the “Jackie-O” dress!
Park Avenue Fashion Week 2015’s Runway Show is the do-not-miss event of the season. It opens at 5 p.m. with a VIP-only early entry into the lounge in Central Park’s West Meadow, under a 20,000-square-foot air-conditioned tent with massive runway. At 6 p.m., the doors swing wide for all entrants readying for a 7 p.m. live entertainment and runway show. It’s a full New York Fashion Week-style runway show featuring a collection of the hottest designers and models, with a live DJ, plus Interactive Red Carpet where you can buy as you see. The Emerging Designer Award will crown the area’s newest next big thing. Then it’s after-party time.
The official VIP After-Party is hosted by Jewels by Peter B from 10:30 p.m. to midnight, with VIP ticket holders receiving lite bites, complimentary beer and bubbles and a live DJ.
