Zipcar starts in Central Florida

Zipcar, the world’s leading car sharing network, officially launched in Central Florida with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Winter Park Vice Mayor Sarah Sprinkel last week. The 12 new vehicles launched in Orlando and Winter Park offer residents and visitors Zipcar’s “wheels when you want them” on-demand membership service.

Local attorney appointed to Winter Park Chamber board

Winderweedle, Haines, Ward & Woodman, P.A. recently announced that attorney Michael P. Carolan has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. Carolan practices real estate law in the firm’s Winter Park office, with emphasis in real estate secured financing, workouts and restructurings for commercial banks, life insurance companies and other lenders. Founded more than 125 years ago, the Winter Park Chamber Commerce’s mission is to develop, promote and sustain a vital, thriving business climate throughout the community and to initiate, support and enhance the civic, educational and economic well-being of the area.

Keep Winter Park Beautiful wins award

Keep Winter Park Beautiful received the 2015 Keep America Beautiful President’s Circle Award at its recent National Conference in Orlando. The President’s Circle Award recognizes exemplary performance made by certified affiliates of the national nonprofit in creating clean, green and beautiful communities. KWPB works with neighborhoods and volunteers throughout the community on public green space projects, organizing environmental cleanups, and other projects related to enhancing the ecological, economic and social sustainability throughout the city.
