Victory Cup Initiative awards grants
The Victory Cup Initiative celebrated its inaugural event on Feb. 4 in Winter Park with a series of grants. Ten Florida nonprofits took to the stage in a storytelling competition and were tasked to share their message in less than 3 minutes to an audience of hundreds of Central Florida business and nonprofit leaders. The audience then voted on first, second and third place prizes. The breakfast event, emceed by the Orlando Sentinel’s Scott Maxwell, awarded Kids House of Seminole with a first place grant of $20,000; second place went to The Faine House with a $10,000 grant; and third place was awarded to City Year Orlando for $5,000. The remaining seven nonprofits walked away with a $1,000 participation grant.
