Parkside Chats return on July 6

Ask Mayor McDonald a question or two and meet your new city manager at next month's Parkside Chat at the Maitland Community Park from 8 to 9 a.m. Coffee will be provided.

City Council recap

On Monday, June 27, the City Council met for a meeting:

Two presentations were scheduled:

• Proclamation – Eagle Scouts

• City Council Chambers Art Presentation – Andrea Bailey Cox, Art & History Museums – Maitland

Four public hearings were scheduled:

• Ordinance – Non Exclusive Construction & Demolition Franchise Agreement – Alternative Trucking Services, Inc.

• Ordinance - Amending Chapter 6, Fire Department Impact Fees

• Ordinance – Adopting International Property Maintenance Code

• Ordinance – Adopting 2014 Florida Building Code & Amendments to Chapter 1 of Building Code

The consent agenda was approved as presented:

• Approve the City Council Meeting Minutes of June 13, 2016

• Approve Contract Award for Wastewater Collections System Rehabilitation with GML Coatings, LLC

• Macaw Settlement Agreement

Two decision items were on the agenda:

• Appointments Parks & Recreation Advisory Board (four)

• Resolution - Adopting building and building related permit fees

Discussion items included:

• SGL/FDOT Public Art Program

City offices closed on Monday

City offices will close on Monday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Have a fun and safe holiday.

Visit the Maitland Farmers Market this weekend

Visit the Maitland Farmers Market on Sunday for fresh produce for a Fourth of July BBQ and to take a stroll around Lake Lily Park. While you’re at it, pick up a gift for the host from one of the market’s 30 vendors. This week’s musical guest, coordinated by the Performing Arts of Maitland, is Acoustic Beach. Dogs are welcome.
