MAY 28

The Winter Park Police Department will be hosting a free car seat check event on Saturday, May 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Winter Park Police Department, located at 500 N. Virginia Ave. Regrettably, seat belt discussions too often revolve around adults in the front seats of vehicles. Child safety seats are too often overlooked. Even when car seats are in use, three out of four car seats are installed incorrectly by caregivers, placing children at greater risk of injury during vehicle crashes. The Winter Park Police Department will have certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians on-site during the event to assist you in learning how to install your child’s car seat properly and make needed adjustments as your child grows. Inspection lanes will close at 1:45 p.m., so please call 407-599-3313 to let us know you plan on attending so proper staffing can be assured. Walk-ins will also be welcomed.

Gather on hole #1 of the Winter Park Country Club golf course with family and friends of all ages from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 28, for Let’s Get “Spriggy” With It! Enjoy a fun, educational morning to help complete the sprigging process. After the work is done, everyone is invited to enjoy hot dogs, lemonade, cotton candy, Italian ice and more. Call the city at 407-599-3399.
