• Thank heavens we shall not have to listen any longer to the mendacities of Hillary Clinton and the unlawful things she did while in highly trusted government positions. May this prodigious prevaricator have used her last political opportunity to pawn off her outright lies to the American voting public. Is it a bit scary to you that if we had not voted in Donald Trump, lying Hillary would now be headed for the big desk in the Oval Office? It seems that some things do somehow turn out right!
• In this country we decided long ago to abide by the results of the public’s vote. It is inherent that we generate winners and losers. One could imagine that politics involves outcomes that are analogous to the final scores in sport contests. Would it be acceptable to suggest that the World Series, already concluded on the diamond, be open to negotiation as to the final score? Outcomes that don’t please some people do not give them the right to refuse those voted results. To suggest that the political landscape is frequently new is, of course, true but it never changes in concept. It is as though we put on a new performance every four years but don’t change the play – only the actors. The ambitions of American political minds often boarder on the fanatical. A character such as Hillary Clinton would be hard to find in any western European country drawing room. She is, I believe, an outstanding example of American female political ambition gone hog-wild.
An even more ambitious political lefty may be Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts. Watch out for this one – she’s dangerous. When Sen. Warren was on the road stumping for Hillary, she seemed tempted to label anyone who didn’t agree with her “a racist.” America’s dumping of Hillary said everything there was to say in spades. At the polls the people who had been labeled “racist” got their revenge by voting for Trump. Who are the leading leftist liberals lined up today along with Sen. Warren? Until they retire, President Obama, Senators Chuck Schumer, Tim Kaine, and Chris Murphy would all qualify. Additionally, Senators Sherrod Brown, Al Franken, and Dick Durbin could all be called “leading liberals.” Their attitude seems to be, “We want our way, we want it now, and we’re going to get it.” With President Obama using executive orders, he got what he wanted and with (retiring) Harry Reid “adjusting” the filibuster, the Democrats controlled everything. What’s to stop Republicans now from doing the same thing?
But the people, especially across the Midwest, grew tired of empirical government. Perhaps they got tired of living in a world where they were accused of racism by the media and by people shoving “political correctness” down their throats. So the citizens decided on the straight talking, controversial, non-politician Trump. Seems the people wanted jobs, lower taxes, safe borders, school choice, and a little honesty – perhaps they wished to turn America back toward its founding principles! So be it!
• I’d like to tell you about a woman whom I see everyday. She is my most influential advisor. When she and I find ourselves invited to the same party, we usually manage to sit close together. I have taken long trips with her along and we have many common friendships in the neighborhood. I have thanked her adequately and she has always been ready and willing to help me. Our friendship bloomed not too long after we met. Finally, there was nothing to do but marry her. Her name is Joy and the name suits her to a T. The French say, “elle e la joie dan ma vie!” She is the joy of my life. I am damned happy that for once I did the right thing!
