City honors public works retiree
The City Council met on Monday, Oct. 10.

Two decision items included:
• Petition No. 2016-03 Preliminary Plat – Maitland Concourse North
• Monroe Avenue Ditch Agreement
The next City Council meeting is on Monday, Oct. 24.
Free CPR class
The Maitland Fire Rescue Department will be offering a free class on adult, child and infant CPR, AED training and choking emergencies. The class will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Maitland City Council Chambers, 1776 Independence Lane. To register, call 407-539-6226 or email [email protected]. Class size is limited to individuals ages 12 and older only, please. The next class will be offered in the spring of 2017.
Presidential election voting information
Maitland City Hall will not be a polling place for the Nov. 8 general election.
Early voting will be held at the Maitland Community Park, 1400 Mayo Ave., from Monday, Oct. 24, through Sunday, Nov. 6, from 8 a.m. through 8 p.m.

The Maitland Farmers Market returns on Sunday
The Maitland Farmers Market will open on Sunday from 9 a.m. through 2 p.m. at Lake Lily Park. Visit the Maitland Farmers Market for produce, BBQ, cookies, and gift items such as soaps, candles, and plants. Dogs are welcome.
