The City Council met at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24.

The consent agenda was approved as presented:
• Minutes of the City Council Meeting on Oct. 10, 2016
• Receipt of the Planning & Zoning Meeting Minutes of June 2, 2016
• Receipt the Planning & Zoning Meeting Minutes of Aug. 18, 2016
• Bulk Fuel and Oil Purchases – Lynch Oil Company
• Approve Dredge & Sediment Sump Design & Permitting for Lake Minnehaha at Lake-of-the-Woods Creek
• Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program Submission to AFG for the purchase of portable radios
Two decision items were considered and acted upon:
• Appointment – Planning and Zoning Commission
• Resolution – Retirement Plans Committee
Trick-or-treat with firefighters
Firefighters will greet trick-or-treaters outside of Fire Stations 45 and 47 from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31. If they are away from their posts, they are responding to a 9-1-1 call.
Parkside Chat returns on Nov. 2
The Parkside Chat returns on Wednesday, Nov. 2. This month’s session will take place at the Cottage at Lake Lily due to early voting taking place at the Maitland Community Park.
The Parkside Chats series provides residents opportunities to ask questions and dialogue with a member of the City Council in a small group setting. Each session is held at the Maitland Community Park on the first Wednesday of most months from 8 to 9 a.m. Coffee will be provided.

Youth basketball registration ends on Monday, Oct. 31. Divisions offered include first and second grades; third and fourth grades; fifth and sixth grades; seventh and eighth grades; ninth and 10th grades; and 11th and 12th grades.
