Sand Lake Elementary on lockdown due to police activity

The school was on a modified lockdown as Orange County Sheriff's deputies pursue three stolen-vehicle suspects.

DR. PHILLIPS  Sand Lake Elementary School has been placed on a modified lockdown following police activity in the area.

Orange County Public Schools officials said that the school went into a modified lockdown at 9:52 a.m. Monday, May 15. Modified lockdowns limit those on campus to essential movement only. 

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the school is on lockdown as a precaution due to deputies pursuing three stolen-vehicle suspects in the area. As of 12:30 p.m., the OCSO call was still ongoing.
