Shepherd's Hope celebrated their twentieth birthday with glitz and glamour at their Roaring 20's Famous Faces Masquerade Ball on Saturday, Oct. 28. Guests donned flashy outfits straight out of the 1920's, including flapper girls, newsies, suffragettes, moonshiners, good time Charlies, mobsters and more. The event was held in the Pacifica Ballroom at Loews Pacific Royal Resort Universal, which was turned into an under-the-radar speakeasy complete with period-appropriate artwork and a gin tub backdrop. Volunteers, dressed as undercover police sporting fake mustaches, put on a show welcoming guests into the dining room where a live band played old-timey covers of modern tunes. Money raised went to Shepherd's Hope, which provides medical care for low-income families and the uninsured.
