Sunday might be Mother’s Day, but local kids in Winter Park got an early start at the Blooming for Mothers family even at Ward Park on Saturday, May 12.
Despite the bad weather that moved through, the morning went on as planned as children of all ages — with the help of their parents — painted small flower pots with colorful designs, before filling them with soil and tiny seeds.
The event was put on by the City’s Parks and Recreation Department, as part of their new citywide re-visioning to get local families out to local parks.
