CULTURAL SAMPLER BICYCLE TOUR

9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 5, at Winter Park Public Library, 460 E. New England Ave., Winter Park. Explore a sampling of our city’s hidden cultural gems while absorbing the charm of Winter Park from a bicycle. The group will bike short distances to discover some of the city’s museums and sights. With multiple stops and easy cycling, this 2.5- to 3-hour tour between historic downtown Winter Park and Rollins College is suitable for adults who want to explore Winter Park’s artistic culture. The tour begins in the library parking lot. A limited number of WPPL check-out bikes are available for participants. For more information, call (407) 623-3300.

 

FAMILY VOLUNTEERING: STEAM KITS

Noon Saturday, April 6, at the Winter Garden Library, 805 E. Plant St. Upper elementary, middle and high school students and their accompanying adults are invited to help assemble STEAM kits at this two-hour community service event. (407) 835-7323.

 

LAKE WATERSHED CLEANUP

8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Dinky Dock Park on Ollie Avenue, Winter Park. Come and join a clean-up effort around these lakes. Activities may include but are not limited to stooping, kneeling, bending and picking up litter in and around the lakes. Breakfast, a volunteer T-shirt, snacks and water will be provided. Litter grabbers, safety vests, gloves and garbage bags are also provided. Kayakers and paddleboarders are welcome. Bringing your own reusable water bottle to fill up and carpooling are encouraged. PARLOR GAMES

7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 5, at the Oakland Manor House, 620 N. Tubb St., Oakland. Enjoy an evening of parlor games at this Wind Down Friday social gathering. In addition to board games, the event will include magicians, psychics, card readers and seers. (407) 614-8219.

 

SPRING FEVER IN THE GARDEN

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7, along Plant Street in downtown Winter Garden. The event, held in conjunction with the city of Winter Garden, offers plants, flowers, garden accessories, vendor booths, live entertainment, food vendors and a Kidzone area. Be sure to stop by the Chalkin’ It Up sidewalk art contest and the Ask the Expert booth. A free shuttle, provided by the First United Methodist Church of Winter Garden, is available from Veterans Memorial Park, 420 S. Park Ave.
