The city of Winter Park united to celebrate family heritage and the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. at the 17th annual Unity Heritage Festival on Monday, Jan. 21. Winter Park families headed to Shady Park in Hannibal Square to play games, check out local vendors and eat new foods. The two-day event had financial literacy programs from the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority’s Nu Iota Omega chapter, entertainment from artists like Heath King, Veronica Stephens, CeCe Teneal, bounce houses for kids and more. Winter Park mayor Steve Leary and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis spoke at the festival’s symbolic Martin Luther King Jr. program Monday.
